Emotional Wellness

Covid Resources

Developing Wellness, is not merely to strive for the absence of disease, wellness is to work towards a sense of balance and well being in all areas of one's life with what ever challenges or opportunities life throws your way. When we approach obstacles and challenges from a Wellness perspective, we are reminded that the little decisions we make every day; what we do, think, feel and believe; all have a direct impact on our well-being and that although we may not always be able to control what we go through, we can in every moment choose how we will respond.

No matter what obstacles we face, Wellness calls for continual growth and self-renewal in all areas of our life.  There are a number of interrelated dimensions of Wellness that have been identified (Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, Intellectual, Social, Environmental, Occupational, Financial) .  Keeping these different dimensions in mind can be helpful in recognizing that Wellness is a wholistic approach, there are many aspects to wellness that we can nurture to feel a greater sense of well-being. It is understandable that when we experience illness we may feel that we will not experience Wellness until that Illness is gone.  I encourage you to challenge that belief.  Approaching illness from a Wellness perspective is to empower yourself to re-visit, re-awaken, re-evaluate all the areas of your mind, body and spirit that contribute to your overall well-being.

Below are some resources we feel you may find helpful to nurture and cultivate wellness in your day to day. We have included resources from the different dimensions of wellness as well as a brief description of each dimension.
